Application
The Greenworks Optimow 10 robotic lawnmower uses a GSM module to control autonomous mowing via the GreenGuide mobile app. Technological innovations aim to simplify life and increase leisure time. As a result, many processes are moving towards automation – there are more and more machines that “stand in place” of humans and perform their manual work. Just like the Optimow 10® robotic lawnmower.
To achieve a high-quality lawn and enjoy blissful peace, several points must be followed: The area to be mowed by the robot must be limited by a special boundary wire, whose end and beginning are closed at the base, i.e., the charging station. It is also necessary to account for all landscape features within the working area. Despite the installed obstacle sensors in the device, it will not be able to recognize the location of a pond or flowerbed, so these must be limited by wire. Otherwise, not only decorative items will be damaged, but also the robot itself.
The robot moves according to a random movement algorithm, bouncing off the boundary wire and fixed obstacles. As a user, you can set 5 different starting points for the robot’s operation and specify their frequency.
The use of an additional 3rd guiding wire option allows the robot to find the shortest route back to the charging station and is helpful in creating multiple mowing zones, as it allows the robot to access other parts of the garden through narrow passages (the minimum passage angle for the robot is 60 cm).
The robot is additionally equipped with an internal rain and frost sensor, connected via GSM to a global weather application. Thanks to this solution, even during brief, light rain showers, the robot will continue its work instead of seeking shelter at the charging station and then waiting a long time to go out again. This is possible due to the high waterproofing standard of the housing IPX5. It also allows for comprehensive and precise cleaning of the cutting disc and blades to achieve high-quality lawn.
